It’s no joke, get your private ball drilled, and you’ll bowl more consistently. A carefully drilled bowling ball can make a substantial improvement in your game. Since you already bought the right bowling ball and shoes, you’re ready for the number two piece of bowling advice: aiming the ball. When you wait to roll, don’t shoot for the pins. Aim for the the arrows like a gunsight. Ever noticed them? It’s less difficult to aim for a mark which sits nearer. To get the most out of your aim, it should be your habit to begin your approach at the exact spot 4 steps from the foul line on every attempt. Roll from the same place, in the same way and you can perfect your accuracy and angle.

Many serious bowlers travel with two or three bowling balls to pull off aggressive hooks, depending on the type of game and lane. Word of warning: intermediates should keep it simple, and avoid a ball that weighs a ton. A lot of pro bowlers invest heavily in bowling balls made for synthetic materials.
